In order to see trends it's necessary to look at a fair amount ot data over a reasonably long time period. That's why when I plot data in my report (which is mostly pictures like what you see below to understand what going on in a quick glance) I plot four years worth of data as in the Inventory Chart below. While preparing the latest report I knew there was even a bigger picture so I opened the time period to seven years.
I don't think I need to explain what's going on and how the two charts below relate. Suffice it to say, supply and demand has always dictated what goes on in any market whether is precious metals, gen stones, and real estate.
