Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I enjoy spending time with my family, being thankful for our many blessings, and of course....who can't forget the turkey feast with all the trimmings?
I'm a novice in the kitchen but I sure do love whipping up a delicious Thanksgiving meal for my guests while throwing my calorie conscious mind completely out the window.
This year's menu consists of...well, turkey of course....and homemade mashed potatoes, stuffing (or dressing if you're from the south), cheesy mac n cheese, Paula Deen's squash casserole with crushed ritz crackers, sweet potatoes, deviled eggs, rolls, cranberry sauce....and pecan and pumpkin pies with a dollop of Cool Whip.
Ahhhh.....nothing beats the aroma of a turkey baking in the oven or sweet pies cooling off on the rack.
Thanksgiving is more than just the aroma. It's the warm memories created with family and loved ones.
What are your plans this Thanksgiving holiday?
