A popular request from potential home buyers is "Can you find me a home with some acreage." Some time this comes from a first time home buyer, and often it comes from a "move up" buyer looking to get out of the city neighborhood and find something with some land.
Finding that dream home on acreage in Minnesota or finding that Hobby Farm for horses in Minnesota is not that hard when you know where to search. For the purposes of this blog I will focus on the North Metro area on the Twin Cities for the potential buyers looking to get out to the country but still be close to the big city.
For the north metro counties I have found that currently Chisago County has the most homes on acreage available. Coming behind Chisago County is Isanti County. If you don't want to live as far out of the Twin Cities area then your next best options are found in Sherburne and Anoka County. Its getting a little harder to find homes on acreage in Anoka county in an affordable price range like under $200k, but there are still some options available and plenty available above $200k! In the Sherburne County homes on acreage search you can still find some great options especially in the northern half of the county.
