If I had to write my last blog post about Princeton real estate, what would it be? If I were to impart the most important issues for the  Princeton real estate buyers and sellers (which is the focus of my blog), what would I have to say? These questions require some very serious    thinking, at least for me, which I definitely intend to do.

I bring this question to my AR friends as an idea for creating important content for your blogs.

I borrowed this idea from several sources that came to my attention this week. The first source was the famous "last lecture" given by the Carnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch, in September 2007.  The lecture, which you can watch here, has apparently been watched over six million times.

The second source was the post on my of my favorite blogs.

There are different ways to look and pursue what's important and it doesn't necessarily have to do with personal adversity. This is a great idea that could help bloggers focus their attention on what is really important and what they want their readers to learn and to know.

If each AR blogger wrote such a post, imagine the effect it could have on the Active Rain, or perhaps the entire real estate industry. It could create the distillation and the essence of the issues confronting the industry today. It could become the  Wikepedia of all things important in real estate. Because it would contain all the most important real estate issues, AR could become the destination for anyone who cares about them, which is almost everyone.

It's really easy to get carried away dreaming

I would like your opinion. Bloggers, what do you think of this idea? Would you like to write "If you ever read one post, this is the one_____" post, and what would you write about?

Real estate buyers and sellers, if you wanted to read one post about real estate, what would you like to know?

Faina -  { Bob Here } The market, the market, the market. Seems to be what most consumers are focusing on these days in my opinion. Pricing also. Wish we could have seen the picture you had. Hope all is well Faina.

Bob -market is definitely on the minds of people. The question is how to condense the most important message for the readers. I have 158 posts. What would I say, if I only had one left to write? Thanks for the Twitter moral support.

Oh boy, this topic is hard for me, cause my confidence in blogging isn't all that high, so I think-think-think, sometimes too much about my topics. Now that I've added to my AR, my outside RE blog, my mobile blog, and a personal one - I can spread it around a bit more.

If there was one more to write - wow.  I'm stuck, but I'll check back here for answers :) Sorry I wasn't much help!

Faina, you once again sent me to a great blog. I have 144 subscribed blogs outside and 300 plus here, is it any wonder I don't read books as much? That is a great idea, did you submit it to the blog, after it was published?

Faina-I do not write many Market pieces, everyone else does that for me :)  So, if I only had one Post left to write....I think I would write an Inspirational One.....I think I would write that no matter how hard things are for you, they can change.  I would want to say thank you....and I would want to let my readers know that the majority of people are not in the "Wealthy" Category, and talk to them.....

That is what I would write.....who cares about the Market if everything else is falling apart?  People want to know that they matter, and that we have hope.  That is what makes our country great, not another house sale, or listing.  My blog is called Real Estate and Life...so I would talk about life :)  Oh, and it would probably be a long Post......as life has so much good things, that I would want to include many of them.

Our Real Estate COE  says "Beneath all is the land"  well, I say beneath all is life :)

If it were my last post about Corona del Mar real estate than I would be writing about how much the community and people I've met have meant to me. (because if I were writing my last post it would mean I was retiring...) A big fat thank you!

Kim - You are way to modest. You do some awesome blogging.  I am putting  this idea out as a way to have us think on what it is that is really important for our audience. Thanks.

Missy -I had over 100 unread posts in my reader yesterday. I read most, and by the end of the day, there was another 100 to read:) I barely have time for "normal" reading:)

P.S. I am sorry that part of the post got somehow deleted and for some reason it wouldn't let me make any more changes to the post, nor insert pictures, or links. This is the some of the missing part (the rest I can't find):

"It's easy to get carried away dreaming. Let's say important people on AR like the idea, and decide to offer some generous prizes for people submitting such a post, and grand prizes for the winners.  Let's say, we put our thinking hats on and write such a post. Unlike me, for some, it may not require much time at all. "

Faina- I just saw your "added" part....and for me, no I wouldn't do a contest, as I would be writing my last Post from my heart, and this isn't something I do on demand :)   That's just me though.

Kathy -sorry, but most of my response got deleted by the system as well. I didn't see it until later. The "last" post is just a technique and a way to think about important content. Another way to look at it would be to think of it as "About" page -the essence of want our readers to know about the blog or us. Surely, it wouldn't be anyone's last post. It does require a lot of thinking though.

Misty -thanks for your comment.
