There are not many days that have as much memorable significance as today for many Americans ....November 22nd is my Parents wedding anniversary....and my Mom still talks about it...though my Father is not here to celebrate what would have been 66 years of marriage...and in their case, I can honestly say...Wedded Bliss.
Today...we mark the anniversary of the assassination of President Kennedy. For people old enough to remember...you know where you were...what you were doing...how you found out...the reactions of those around you...50 years is a long time to recall reactions vividly...but we can.
Now there is one surviving member from this family portrait. Life being taken too soon and history forever changed.
John F. Kennedy left us with many memorable quotations....one of our favorites....
"We are not here to curse the darkness; we are here to light a candle." - JFK
As we each remember today in our own way...we know that we have the power....and obligation to light our own candles ...and make the world the best it can be for ourselves and every life we have the good fortune to touch.
