Dena, was not aware that the list of products was that long. I replaced my windows last summer and I made sure that they were Energy Star Approved.
Wow! You are fast George. I just it 'post'. And I hope you like your windows. I bet after you have them for a year or more you will realize the comfort and the savings (big differences).
In the Greater Asheville area Progress Energy offers a 5% discount to Energy Star customers have made an effort to let the pulic know about the benefits of Energy Efficieny including: Superior quality of construction ,Year-round comfort ,Improved air quality, Mortgage savings, etc. This benefit is especially interesting to real estate professionals and our clients,...Higher home resale value. - Energy Efficient Home quality can add real resale value. Oh! and the 5 percent energy discount is transferable to the next owner.
NC GreenPower - is one program that Progress Energy offers customers, as well. This program "allows residential and small commercial customers to contribute $4 per month for a 100-kilowatt-hour block of green power. The $4 per block monthly fee is added to the customer's regular electric bill. This block of renewable energy will come from solar, wind and biomass resources"
Dena...I will be hoping to see this in a flyer form that we could share...and possibly share with ECOBrokers and ECO -Certified Real Estate professionals.
