Five Grounds for Coffee Grounds

Got a fireplace that actually burns things up? If there's a significant amount of ashes to clean out, you can cut down on the mouth-covering and coughing with used damp coffee grounds, and mix them with the ashes into an easy-to-clean pile. The Coffee Grounds cling to the ashes to prevent the ash and dust floating around in the process of scooping out the ashes. Winters coming up so I thought I'd give up this little tip to make the Fireplace maintenance a wee bit easier. Interesting eh?

Other Uses for Coffee Grounds:

Shiny Hair? Yes. Everyone wants beautiful shiny hair! Coffee has been suggested to be a simple, natural treatment to make your hair extra glossy. So, here's what to do. Brew up a really strong pot, let it cool, then apply it to your dry hair. Leave it on for 20 minutes then rinse. For best results it's best to do this at least once a week.

Reduce Cellulite?  Yes it can. Expensive Cellulite Creams have the key ingredient in common with Coffee. CAFFEINE, which enhances the fat metabolism, reducing the appearance of these fatty pockets under the skin. Now, to make your own coffee cellulite treatment, mix up warm used coffee grounds with coconut oil and rub it onto your skin in circular motions for a few minutes before rinsing. Store a small container of the grounds in the shower, try this every day until visible results.

Exfoliate Skin? Yes it can. The same properties  enable coffee to reduce the appearance of cellulite can smooth and tighten your skin, and the texture of ground coffee will buff away dead skin cells, too. To make your own coffee-based scrub, mix a tablespoon of coffee grounds with half a tablespoon of olive oil and a drop of your favorite essential oil. (The essential oil is optional).

Curiosity killed the cat, they say. Let's just keep them out of the Garden!  To you, that little garden in your yard is a beautiful source of fresh herbs, fruits, vegetables, and flowers but to  our beloved felines in the neighborhood, it's a giant, irresistible litter box. So, just sprinkle used coffee grounds on the soil, and cats will want nothing to do with it. Problem solved.

Last but not least: GO HAVE A CUP OF COFFEE, STAY WARM, AND ENJOY!

Tamra, These are very good tips for coffee. Just a quick question? In the scrubs and creams I assume you use Fresh coffee grounds and not used?? Stupid question I suppose.

Helen & Larry, actually, for the Scrub for Cellulite, a Couple Days of used Grounds is okay. To exfoliate skin with the Olive Oil, Fresh grounds are the way to go.
