Just read an article about never putting buyers in your car again!

Just read that article on a Realtor site and thought it was great. Never put a buyer in your car again! Fantastic idea! I am going to start strapping them to the roof right away! I drive an SUV with a roof rack and they will have plenty of room up there. Might get a tad cold from time to time, but I am thinking this will speed up the process of them buying a home. The article says that I can sell more houses in a shorter period of time, and I think after taking a buyer around to see homes while being strapped to the roof of my car will want them to look at less homes!

Don't you hate it when a buyer brings their kids to showings and you spend the whole time babysitting them so they don't break stuff? I will bet that buyers won't want to bring their kids when they are strapped to the roof, so that is another benefit. I will work out a system to replace the feedback I normally get between showings, however. If they tap once on the roof they liked the home they looked at, twice means no.

You know how first time buyers like to bring Dad along to kill the deal after showing 50 houses to the kids? After taking Dad to a couple of showings strapped to the roof of my car, I will bet he starts approving all the showings!

This may be the best idea I have ever heard. I can't believe I didn't try it sooner! Thank goodness for the good ideas on Realtor web sites!! I think I might even start picking up the home inspector and take him to the inspections as a show of good will! Great idea.

I have always found that renting a small U-haul trailer and putting them in that was the extra touch that allowed me to separate myself from those average agents using the roof rack.

Nice idea. I also should have thought of that. If the price of gas keeps going up I will have to ride them on my handlebars.

Dennis,

I have a pick-up, and two or three can sit comfortably on the tool box.

Might get a bus seat to put in back for larger families...

LOL  Good post.

This sounds fantastic. I do not have a roof rack on my car, but maybe I could throw my guys in the trunk instead. I know technically the trunk is in the car, but maybe this will still help get the point across.

My concern is what would happen to my MPG, with the change in aerodynamics.?  The price of gas ins now $3.25/gal here.

Bob- If you drive faster the wind resistance will be less!

JL- trunk is acceptable! You could always get a small wagon and tie them behind the car. Kind of like that government program called "no buyer left behind"

Mike-I like the toolbox idea. Gives them somewhere to put their snacks.

Dennis,

Funny Stuff....I'm a little far out in the Country...can't hardly afford the gas in my Benz anymore so I was wondering how many houses I could show per day if I ride my Daughter's Horse...Definately not enough room in the saddle for Clients OR their kids ! I'll bet they will be glad to meet me there!

How funny! It's quite an idea though. The back seat comes out of mine, so they should be quite comfortable up there. I guess for better mileage, I could take the Harley and pull a bike trailer.

Doug-you could loan them a donkey.

Lissa-good idea. the bike trailer would be a little tight, but they would buy quicker.
