The Prospector neighborhood in Park City is one of the older residential developments in Park City with the subdivisions of of Prospector Square, Prospector Village and Prospector Park dating back to the 1970's although some homes have continued being built right through the 80's, 90's and 2000's.
Chatham Hills is a newer and pricier subdivision in the Prospector area with most of the homes being a fair amount larger than others in the Prospector area and built out largely after the turn of the century.
The Prospector area offers the convenience of a close to town location. You can be at Park City Mountain Resort, Deer Valley or anywhere downtown in just a matter of minutes.
Some homes, especially in the Chatham Hills area have dramatic views of the surrounding mountains.
Within the Prospector area there is also a commercial district with a number of businesses, stores and restaurants including the long time Park City favorite, The Grub Steak. Give this one a try if only for the huge selection they have at their world class salad bar, and the steaks are of course worth the trip as well.
Residents here are also right on the free Park City bus route and can get anywhere in town quickly and easily for no cost without ever having to get into their car.
Children in the Prospector area will attend McPolin Elementary right across the street for K-5. The 8th and 9th grade middle school and high school are also located on an adjoining campus with all Park City 6th and 7th graders attending Ecker Hill Middle School in Lower Pinebrook.
There are currently just five homes available in the Prospector area. These range from a 5 bedroom/4 bath 3,321 square foot home in Prospector Village priced at $739,000 to a 5 bedroom/5 bath 5,591 square foot home in Chatham Hills priced at $1,445,000.
15 homes have sold in the area in the last 12 months at an average price per square foot of $238 making this one of the most affordable places to live within the Park City limits.
