Monday Motivation - A new blog post each week intended to inspire and motivate. Hope your week's off to a great start!
"After the verb 'to love', 'to help' is the most beautiful verb in the world."
-Bertha von Suttner
With Thanksgiving in just a few days and the holiday season underway, I thought this an appropriate quote for the week. While it's easy to remember 'to love' over the holidays in the presence of our family & friends, sometimes it's easy to forget 'to help'.
This is a joyous time of year for most, and it's a great idea if you've got the means, or the time, to help spread joy to those less fortunate. There are many ways to spread good will & cheer over the holidays - toy drives, food bank donations, and donating used goods - from clothing to blankets - to an organization that can put those goods to better use.
I am so thankful that my family is fortunate enough to keep warm and gather amongst great food and company for the holidays, but so many people are less fortunate and could use a helping hand this time of year.
Something so small as a cup of coffee or bowl of soup for a homeless person out in the cold, or a couple hours to volunteer at an animal shelter (or food bank, or salvation army, or any other place that helps others) can really make a difference and make sure that everyone, everywhere, gets to experience some joy over the holiday season.
