What is the true definition of a "deal"?

According to Websters Dictionary a deal(1) is:

1. to portion out or distribute.

2. to give; administer ( a blow, etc.)

3. (Slang) to sell (illegal drugs) [yikes]

4. to do business; trade (with or in)-n. 1. the distributing of playing cards 2. a business transaction 3. a bargain or agreement, esp. when secret. 4. [Colloq.] treatment [a fair deal].

Deal (2) n., an indefinite amount - a good (or great) deal 1. a large amount 2. very much.

So, what is your definition of a deal?

Is it?

#1. A quick an easy transaction?

#2. Negotiating an easy deal?

#3. Negotiating a tough transaction?

#4. Finding a short sale for a customer?

#5. Finding a foreclosure for a customer?

#6. Working an investor?

#7. Working a deal, period?

What really is a good deal? Is anything a good deal? I believe it is as I've had a few...but what is a GOOD DEAL FOR YOU?

These days, ANY transaction is a "deal".

Buying Bear Stearns for $2 a share - That's what I call a deal!!!

Ditto @ Marilyn! It's insane.

I wish there was a quick and easy deal. Those always see to be the hardest.

I would say that any quick and easy transaction would qualify in the "deal" category for me. I had a deal last year that I made $18,000 on, and I didn't even have to show a single property. It required two phone calls. I need to write a post about it sometime.

Seems everyone wants a deal. But watch out today....May the luck of the Irish be with you!

Karen, A deal is what makes you feel like you got one. When price = value that is a deal. :-)

To me it is simple. It is when a buyer and a seller agree on the temrs of a transaction. Or right now, it's $2 gas! (And who'd of thought we'd be saying that just a few years ago?)

$2.00 for gas...where are you buying..LOL, I'll drive there...it will be cheaper!
