This was one of those pictures that I couldn't pass up.

I am NOT a photographer, by any stretch of the imagination. I appreciate it, but I can't do it. I think I can get by well enough to take pics for my listings, and the trips I take, but I am STRICTLY AMATEUR.

I was up early this morning, drinking my coffee, and doing my email, before I had to leave to go up to Long Beach, (about 80 miles) for the blogging conference that Dustin Luther was presenting at (it was, BTW, terrific - see my post on this).

I happened to glance out the window from our dining room into the back yard and was amazed at the sunrise. I grabbed my camera and here you are. It does not quite do justice to what I saw, but it's the sort of thing you witness and it makes you glad to be alive at that point in time so you could see it. I know, a but cheesy, but it captures my thoughts.

Good Picture. The only thing better than a sunrise is a sunset. I have several pictures of sunsets taken in Naples Florida. I use the pictures as a computer background and enjoy looking at them while I am working on the computer. Keep this good pictures coming.

You just had to think it was going to be an awesome day when you saw that; it was.

Thanks, everyone, for your positive comments and encouragement. Don't think I should leave the day job, though. :)

You're so right, Brian, I am still in awe of today.

 Thanks much, Maureen.

James - it IS a great place. Such a dramatic chnage from living in New England and the Midwest.

Carole - thanks for your kind words.

Marlene - Thanks. I did spend about 5 minutes watching the sky as the light changed, until email called me back! :)

And ironically today it is completely foggy.

Kaye - Thanks! Fog is now gone. Weird. I use a Sony Cybershot with 5.0 megapixels. I am still learning how to use it - Too impatient to sit down and really use the directions. :)

Jay - I've hear that before but had forgotten. We'll see - they say some rain for us this wekend (that's a storm here in Southern California).

Sara - it WAS spectacular, wasn't it? Thanks for your comment.

Yep, Lloyd - it's a pretty special place, at least for me. Thanks for your compliment, AND your dog pic - she's a beauty!!

Sunrises and sunsets always get my attention.

Your photo just goes to show that you don't always have to go out and seek places to take a photo - they are often in your own back yard.

Thanks, Sharon. Sunsets are my favorite, especially over the water, but since I am just inland I also get to enjoy the sunrises when I am up early enough.
