This is a summary of Villa California condos for sale and a market update as of November 26, 2013 according to our multiple listing service(mls) records. 
Located just west of the Caltech(California Institute of Technology) campus is this complex which consists of 27 single level condominiums and five two level townhouse style units. Each has two bedrooms. Villa California was built in 1964 and later converted to condominiums.
With its combination of extensive tile, iron grillwork and open garden areas, the Villa California exterior draws upon the architectural heritage of early California. Interiors boast high ceilings, handsome fireplaces and abundant storage and when in their original condition a definite mid-century modern vibe.
In addition to the extensive gardens, the complex features a pool, spa and barbeque area. There are community laundry facilities although some units have added washer-dryer connections. Parking is gated.
This very popular location is convenient to South Lake Avenue where you will find many shopping and dining options. It’s also not far from many points of interest in Pasadena for entertainment, education and culture. Multiple freeways and the Gold Line light rail station at Lake Avenue are all easily accessible.
A recently renovated first floor unit at Villa California came on the market earlier in November and has just gone into escrow. Listed at $489,800 it is a very dramatic space with approximately 1171 square feet which had been transformed. Previously in near original condition it sold for $355,000 earlier this year. The only other sale this year was a second floor unit which closed for $421,200.
In 2012, there were two sales both with approximately 1199 square feet which closed for $399,000 and $410,000 in July of that year.
