HOW AN IRISH FAMILY TURNED GREEN INTO GOLD

By
Real Estate Agent

Here is the story of a man's quest for that pot of gold and he found it by selling real estate.  Persistence, hard work, quality of service are traits he empowered himself and it worked then and still working today.

In 1956, a young man named Thomas Laffey arrived in New York from Ireland looking for his pot of gold.  He settled in Long Island and decided to sell real estate.  Through hard work, he was able to open his First Residential Real Estate Office in Long Island in 1974.  Over the next decade, Tom's sons joined the company and successfully opened 10 branch offices across Nassau and Queen Counties.

In 1997, Laffey Associates made a big move and joined the Cendant Organization through Century 21's Fine Homes and Estate division.

Today, Laffey Associates, now run by Tom's sons: Philip Laffey, President, Emmett Laffey, CEO, and Mark Laffey, COO, has grown to the No. 1 post at Century 21 Organization in New York and is Long Island's largest independently owned real estate company, with over 500 sales associates in 14 offices across Long island and Queens.

The 2007  national results for Century 21 ranked Laffey Associates #8 in the country for the entire year.

In 2007, Laffey Associates had over 1.2 BILLION in sales.

Through team work, excellent customer service and the leader in technology, the Laffey Organization continues its quest for more pots of gold.  I'm happy to be a member of that team.

Hi, I grew up on Long Island and had relatives in Old Brookville. A beautiful area. I am now upstate, NY by SUNY Oneonta and Hartwick colleges. Alot of Long Islanders want investment property, land or to retire here. Would love any referrals from you and I would do the same for you. Thanks

Carol - If I come across those people who want to move upstate, absolutely I'll be happy to refer them to you.  I bet you don't miss Long Island and our taxes.  It's nice here but you pay through the roof on property taxes.

Rosealinda- I'll always be a Long Island girl. What I miss the most is the beaches and black and white cookies from the bakery (and the jelly donuts)  I still like coming back, just not the traffic.Your right the taxes are crazy. Good luck in 2008
