Do You Know How to Determine Future USDA Eligibility Area Changes?

Even with Continuing Resolution 2775 in place, changes to USDA eligibility areas are still in the works. Per AN-4679, the USDA will implement 2010 Census data when determining which areas are considered “rural” and thus maintain USDA eligibility. However, by switching from the 2000 Census data to 2010 Census data, many areas that are currently eligible will lose their ability to qualify for a USDA loan.

This week’s tip shows both Realtors and homebuyers how to determine if their area will remain a USDA eligible area.
