Continuing with this series of things to do and places to eat in South Davis County, I am focusing on Lorena's Mexican Restaurant. It is located in Woods Cross. I will admit that Darcy and I are pretty particular when it comes to Mexican cuisine. I will admit that I like Lorena's a lot more than Darcy does, she prefers the California Mexican cuisine, which I also like. Lorena's is not that, but it is still good. I love the tortillas! They are handmade and thicker than what you would normally find.
It is also on the spicy side, if you don't like things picante, Lorena's may not be your cup of tea, so to speak. I enjoy, besides the tortillas, the Mexican Steak, which is a thin cut steak covered in salsa and served with rice and fried potatoes. It what I normally order and is very good.
Lorena's is reasonably priced, and the staff is friendly. It is near the interchange with Interstate 15, so there is good freeway access.
