Capping the wood stove stack. Really? A redneck approach.
There I was in the back yard when I saw the neighbor out and about in their backyard.
I said hello and told him that there was rain and snow on the way.
He said he had heard about the incoming storm and said he wasn't worried.
I told him he should at least cap off the wood stove stack that was missing the cap. There had never been a stack cap on the stack since the home had the stack installed.
The "Renter" said he would have to look into getting the stack covered because of the incoming weather.I said O.K. and went about feeding the pets in the back yard.
Then the next day I saw what the "Renter" had done with the cap.
He took the redneck approach. he actually installed a cap. A baseball cap over the pipe.
I could not believe that this was the "FIX" that he did.
Take a look at this "Fix".
He actually installed a baseball cap on the stack.
Kinda hard to see. But it is a baseball cap. I guess I should have been a little more precise when telling him the stack needed a "CAP.
This is why you always get a home inspection by a certified inspector.
Have a very good dayEvery One.
