Katy Prairie Conservancy Holds Birding 101
The Katy Prairie Conservancy (KPC) is holding a special class on Saturday December 7, 2013 Titled Birding 101. The class starts at 10 AM and runs until 1 PM. It is being held at the KPC Indiangrass Preserve located at 31950 Hebert Road Waller TX. The link I have provided is a set of directions to the preserve.
Watching birds or ‘Birding” is a hot topic and activity these days. KPC preserves were recently designated a “ Global Important Bird Area by the National Audubon Society. The katy Prairie and wetlands are so very important to bird preservation and conservation.
This class is a family event which is excellent for beginners. Attendees will learn basics of bird watching from learning to identify various different types of birds by shape and from figuring out bird songs heard in each person’s yard.
Registration is necessary and use the KPC link shown above and click on Visit tab to find the various events being offered.
