Cigars, Tiger Woods and Mortgage Business... Life is Good!

Life is always good when you can go to your local Cigar Shop and enjoy an Oliva Series V, watch Tiger Woods march his way on to a perfect season of Golf and find new business as well.

Now this is not an endorsement for you to run out and start smoking. However, even if you don't smoke, don't assume that what takes place in Cigar Shop's around the country is just a bunch of old fat guys talking about remember when.  Because of smoking laws around the country many of these shops have become more lounge like.  If you don't enjoy a good cigar that is ok you can still go in these shops, watch TV, drink and mingle with the people.  You will be surprised who you will meet.

This past weekend I was at my local Cigar Shop enjoying a Olivia Series V Double Toro (in my opinion a great stick) while watching Vijay blow his lead on Saturday the person next to me had his cell phone ring.  OK, so maybe I am nosey.  I overheard the conversation about this person moving down to Palm Beach Gardens and the word Mortgage was also used.  (The Magic word)

Well one thing leads to another and we started talking about Mortgage's and it turned out this gentlemen is a Hard Money Commercial Investor.  He was down in the area because he was tired of the cold and thinking about moving down here.  Even though this turned out not to be a loan for me it did however, turn out to be a great new connection for Hard Money Commercial deals.  In fact, this gentleman offers some very unique products for the investor of Residential properties as well in the form of Blanket loans (stictley on the wholesale side)

In closing, next time you are near a Cigar Shop you might want to think twice before walking by.  You never know where your business will come from.

Matt,

I have been telling my wife for years that I should be spending more time at Cigar and Sports bars because it would be good for business.  Your post now PROVES it.  Can I give her your number, maybe you can help me convince her.  LOL

In all seriousness tho, it is pretty cool how things like that happen.  How deals come into the office from strange situations in places you would least expect.

You must always have your eyes and ears open or you will surely miss an opportunity.

P.S.

Tiger must surely be from another planet.  The things he does defies explanation.

Matt,

Nothing wrong with a little me time to enjoy what makes you happy and really doesn't hurt anyone....and bonus a connection for the profession.....oh yea, that Tiger fellow putting on another clinic.

When you love what you do......do what you love and make a new connection...an almost perfect day.

Matthew - I'm not a big fan of watching golf on television but I must say I agree with Rick Schaffer above.  Tiger is unreal.  As far as business, you can never tell where you may find it....or it you.
