Hello Self

What would you say if you could talk to yourself?  Actually, the most important person that talks to you every day is you.  So, my next question then is how is your self talk, is it empowering and uplifting or are you beating yourself down and tearing yourself up?  Pay attention to the things you say, things like "I am never going to get this right, I always lose, I can't, I wont or I don't.  If you recorded everything you said in a day, most of us would be amazed at how negative our self talk is.  Here's another aha for you; your subconscious is ALWAYS listening and it doesn't have a sense of humor so when you get the answer to a question wrong and you respond with "I am so stupid" what did you just program?  Now, I am going to hit a little closer to home.  What are your children hearing when they talk to them selves and did you know they are learning their self talk from you?

I am going to share a story with you and I am going to be very transparent in order to hopefully have the greatest impact.  By the time I was 10 years old I was a complete mess; scared, beaten down physically and emotionally from years of abuse and very honestly I hated myself.  In 1996, my son was born and I met Zig Ziglar at a Get Motivated seminar.  I started to turn my life around and started to see some success largely because I learned how to change the programs that had been written into my subconscious for over 30 years.  Within a few years, I was succeeding and achieving goals I never thought I would.  One night and this is a little scary, I had a dream.  I am walking through the State Fair in Tampa and I see a scared little boy walking towards me.  As I get closer I realized that little boy was me.  I fell to my knees, wrapped my arms around him and in tears told him "it's going to be OK, you are going to grow up to be a successful business man, you are going to do awesome things, you are going to be happy and you are going to have a wonderful family that loves you."  I believe in my heart that was God speaking to me that night healing the wounds that were still etched into my soul from years of horrible programming.

So, what you say really does matter.  It matters to you and to the people in your life that you are speaking to or who are just listening as you beat your self help.

Thank you Deborah for your comment.  By making my heart an open book, hopefully I will reach and help at least one person.
