I love all animals, as far as the domesticated animal goes the horse is the most majestic. There are several different breeds and everyone has their favorite, in fact for Christmas Steve got me tickets to see the The Lipizzaner Stallions. Honestly it was an OK show. Because the Ocean Center was small the horses were unable to do a lot of the spectacular things they are trained to do, and I didn't like the double bit system in their mouths that caused them to drool during the entire performance, to me it took away from their beauty. Getting off subject here, the Lipizzaner is a beautiful horse, and yes if I could I have a stable full I would and take every one riding, but the Clydesdale to me is the most stunning breed of the horse world. I guess I consider the Clydesdale more my style because it is a "working person's" horse, because that is what the Clydesdale is bred to do, but at the same time the Clydesdale is absolutely gorgeous and very gentle.
Where am I going with this?
The Budweiser Clydesdales (yes the ones you see during the Big Game at the beginning of February that usually have the best commercials) are going to be featured at the First Annual Coca Cola Speed Experience at the Daytona Beach Flea Market on Thursday, February 15 from 12-2pm and again on Saturday, February 17 also from 12-2. We believe the whole team may be there on Thursday and I'll be headed over there to take pictures and hopefully get to pet a couple of these gentle giants. I've never gotten close to a Clydesdale before, to me this is as good as seeing a whale in the wild. I've not included any photos in this post but I'll defiantly put some in next week as soon as I get back to the office. I'm not sure they will have the Budweiser wagon and Dalmatian but wouldn't that be great too? If you click on the link: The Budweiser Clydesdales you will go to a website that has a fascinating history of the Budweiser Clydesdales that I found, I thought maybe they would have their own site, but I found this instead. We got to see the Clydesdales at Sea World in San Diego several years ago. They had a new colt, boy was he cute and enormous. You don't realize how big those horses are until you stand next to them. Have fun this weekend. -Charles
