Many people have already started writing blog posts. However, some of them are unsure how to create and manage a well-structured blog. If that's you or, if you want to improve your current blog, here's some suggestions:
- Keep Your Posts Focused - Choose a topic and then focus your post on that topic only. When you add too many topics into one post, it runs the risk of becoming scattered and confusing.
- Create a Catchy Title - Your blog title is your headline much the same as you would use to promote a property listing. Catchy titles stand out among the many other posts out there. A word of caution, though. Make sure your post titles contain keywords pertinent to what you're writing about.
- Help People Find You - If your blog is lacking readership, it could just be a matter of exposure. To get more people to see your blog online, post it to social networking sites such as your Facebook business page, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ and Pinterest. Create an intro to your post and then provide a link back so people will view it on your blog. Send an email to your list every time you post.
- Make it Easy on the Eyes - As we age, our eyes find it more and more difficult to read light text on a dark background. Distractions such as flash and too many images can turn your potential readers off, too. Keep them to a minimum and make sure they are linked and optimized.
- Get Your Own URL - Who's getting your thunder? If you're using a free site such as WordPress.com or Blogger, your site is next to impossible to be found on the search engine rankings. Purchase your own domain name and hosting. It's definitely the best way to gain more online exposure.
- Copyright Laws are Harsh - Make sure the graphics you use in your posts are not copyrighted. Lawsuits can be expensive whether using the copyrighted graphic was intentional or not. Use you own photos when possible.
Building your online presence take time and persistence. Try using these blogging tips and you'll soon be getting the readership you're looking for,
