Peace At The Bird Feeder
Here in SE PA we are having our second snow fall in two days. I filled up my few bird feeders prior to the storm and have been enjoying the comings and goings of many birds. I live in an area where there are a lot of house sparrows. House sparrows travel in groups, safety in numbers. I do not enjoy their visits for they are very aggressive amongst themselves and often towards other more docile birds. What I find interesting though is that these house sparrows do calm down a bit when the snow is falling and if there is an older slower bird amongst them.
This photo of the feeder shows a junco on the left and a house sparrow on the right.
The gadget on the top helps to keep larger birds off the feeder, most of the time.
