For a special holiday treat be sure to get your tickets for the candlelight tours of George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate. Located on the banks of the Potomac River the estate is decked out for the holidays.
Mrs. Washington herself leads tours which show the home as it was during the holidays of George Washington's time. There is dancing, music and friends from of George and Martha Washington on hand.
After you tour the home you can spend time at the Museum and Education Center where there are more decorations and music.
As a special treat for the youngsters they can pet Alladin the Christmas Camel who visits Mount Vernon during the holiday season.
The Candlelight Tour runs on Saturday and Sunday through December 22nd. Admission is $22 for adults and $15 for children 11 and under. The holiday decorations at Mount Vernon Estate stay up until January 6, 2013 and the estate is open on Christmas Day.
