Singing In The Rain...My Song for 2013

I am always blown away by how Kathleen Daniels comes up with these amazing challenges. Well I guess I will just have to get use to it because here she is with another beautiful challenge by kathleen Daniels. Choosing a song that speaks of one's business for the year of 2013

singing in the rainMy choice is the Gene Kelly 1952 classic 'Singing In The Rain'.

Some might think it is because of Active Rain and all it has given me would be the reason. Well, there is no denying that Active Rain has given me tons over the years but my participation 'In the Rain' has been anything but mediocre at best. So no Active rain is not the reason for my song choice.

My reason has to do with the growth of myself over this last year that in turn has brought new life to my business. As many know I have struggled with that demon called depression over the past few years. I even wrote a post about it for another Active Rain challenge in January of this year by of all people, the amazing Kathleen Daniels.  Though I have conquered this demon for the most part, 2013 still brought things my way that kept it just under the surface instead of under control. That is until one day somewhere around mid year when I just started 'singing in the rain'. I have no idea why or even where the idea came from but I just decided to be happy no matter what and when I did things just started blossoming from there. Did things change so much that life and business was all hunky dorey from then on out? Heck no but what did happen was decisions started being made that amazed even me. Good business decisions that had been hanging out there are now in production and moving forward. My final battle had finally been won.

As 2013 comes to a close I can honestly say my year has been amazing and my business is following suit. Was it my best business year ever? Of course not but it has been a business year of tremendous growth and opportunities that are still playing out and onward into the new year. And finally, finally after all this time, I can put the demon to bed and never post about it again.

And it's all because I started 'Singing In The Rain'

Martha, they just don't write songs like "Singin' in the Rain" any more.  Great song and it creates a great mood.

Martha

What a terrific song to use for your 2013 business. Such a classic song AND movie and it fits you to a T, in my opinion. Glad to hear of all the positive changes this year, and I bet 2014 will bring even more

Martha, It is said that happiness is a choice.  I agree wholeheartedly with that statement.  I also know that chemical imbalance and/or physical issues and high levels of pain change people.  The ability to manage life shifts from "can do" to  "I can't do" or worse yet "I don't give a damn."  Unless one has traveled that path and lived that journey ... they can only judge what they think we "should" be doing.

I am singing in the rain reading "...I just decided to be happy no matter what ..." and you made the shift and are back in the game - and singing in the rain!

So glad your battle in over.

Thank you for your sweet, kind, words.

Thanks for participating in this challenge.
