Stagnation hurting new home sales

I talked with a representative from DR Horton today about a new community they are building off of Winkler. When we asked what was number one objection they heard, the answer was "I have a home to sell". While some traditional buyers of exisiting resale homes have taken advantage of the discounts and incentives builders are offering, others simply can not.

Sellers who are in this position and want to take advantage of the incentives to move into a new home find they must be brutally realistic when putting their home on the market. Some builders will leave the contingency in place for maybe up to 6 months at which time it has to be removed or the contract voided. We have been able to successfully guide our clients through both the new home purchase and selling of their exisiting home.
