Murfreesboro Real Estate Tips-Installing Carpet Runner On Wood Stairs
If you are tired of walking on your cold wooden stairs, or maybe tired of slipping on the slick surface, this might be the perfect time for you to install a carpet runner on your wood stairs. In this post I will show you exactly how to install the runner.
Step 1: Install Tackless Strips
These strips will ensure that the padding and carpet runner don't slip
Step 2: Install the Padding
The padding will make your steps more comfortable
Step 3: Trim Carpet to Size
Measure the carpet and cut to the proper size for the stairs
Step 4: Crease the Carpet Runner
Crease a line on both edges of the runner to fold the carpet under for a nice clean edge.
Step 5: Position and Attach the Runner
Begin to install the runner starting from the botton
Step 6: Staple the Riser
Staple the carpet in place as you move up the stairs
Step 7: Tuck the Carpet Into the Corner
Tuck the carpet into the joints of the stairs for a clean edge
Step 8: Straighten the Runner's Edges
Use an awl to straighten the runners edges before you staple in place.
