Frivolous Friday - Non real estate related post

I am determined to someday visit Italy -- it's high on my bucket list and is a must-do for me.

The Internet tells me that today the temperature reached nearly 60 degrees in Positano, Italy, while the mercury didn't get out of the low 20s in my home of New York and the wind gusts are making it feel even more bitter.

While Positano might not be the actual spot I someday visit, it certainly is representative of the Italy I want to see.   Beautiful homes on a cliff overlooking the sea, with the sun setting behind floating boats.

So instead of hopping on a plane to Italy today, I finished a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle of the area.   I guess placing beautiful homes in their spots on the cliff above the sea puzzle will have to do for now.

And then I have to find another appropriate puzzle....   Maybe one of the coastal towns in Tuscany.  Aaaah.

That is the right attitude, Kat. I love puzzles and Italy too.  One year (in college) I was there in December and it was still nice.

Hi Kat, we spent 4 or 5 days in Italy about 10 years ago and though it was not my favorite spot in Europe it was memorable.  The food was cheap and delicious as well as the wine and we visited some great spots in the lake district like Bellagio and Lugano just across the border in Italian speaking Switzerland.

It was so interesting to read your whimsical post!  I was in the store the other day and saw the puzzles displayed.  I loved working puzzles, but then stopped for some reason.  I'm glad you enjoyed the sun!!  I live in my pretend head too, sometimes

You're much more patient then I could ever be when it comes to the puzzle of Italy. Hope you get your wish some day and are able to visit.

Carla - Sometimes the pretend head is a little more fun that the real one!

Roger - I love puzzles; I WILL get there!

Kerry - I would love to visit them all.  I have been to Gibraltar but that's all so far....

Kat, I didn't get to that part of Italy, but I did spend 3 weeks on the eastern coast of Sicily back in my Navy days.  Very cool seeing the history of the place, and the food was good too :)  Bill

Kat, I think that you need to frame this puzzle and put a trip to Postiano in your 2014 business plan!

Sure it may start with a jigsaw puzzle, but it will become very real at some point and when you get there, it will almost be like you have been there before.

Make it a great weekend!

Bill - I'm sure most of those three weeks was work related, but it sounds as though you were able to squeeze some fun in as well.  Yum, food.

Dawn - Thanks for stopping by!  A lot of the pictures are gorgeous; I can't wait.

Patricia - I am going to frame it!  I think Positano might have to wait though.  2014 won't be enough time to save enough.  Maybe I'll put it on the calendar for 2015 or 2016 so it'll be a goal.  Then I can plan!

Joe - Yay!  It WILL be real.  I'm going to pick a good 2015 date now!
