Number three on the real estate directory is Marc Grossman's Central Florida Real Estate Blog Congrats Marc!

I was so excited for Marc I did not notice numbers 4 and 5 on the list are both of my blogs.. for a few minutes anyway.

The directory has been up since Sunday I believe. Qassia is still a beta but it is or is shortly going to be a public beta, it has been by invite only. To get to the directory when on Qassia click on the Qassia logo at the top of the page.

The one piece of Qassia real estate "Intel" that I read this morning was titled "Top 8 Web 2.0 Real Estate Websites" Number one on the list? ActiveRain!

I have only posted two pieces of "Intel" on Qassia. Like ActiveRain where most of my points are from inviting, I have most of my Qassia dollars from referring.* I plan on using Qassia for totally local content, since the directory will be to my two blogs which are local content. That's the strategy now anyway...

Catching up on what Qassia is? Qassia is social media. Maybe it's a cross between Wikipedia, Squidoo and Mahalo? Or maybe Qassia is totally different.... unique.

One thing you can do on Qassia... republish content from another site YOU own. It would show with this info in the side bar:

Maureen, Thanks for the heads up. I haven't been over there for a couple of days. It is a very different site. I really need to post some original content there to gather $$. There have been 3 views on my other blogs from Qassia referrals.

Chreyl... there is no interaction on Qassia... I am not sure if I like that. I read something and I want to comment from force of habit... I wonder if they will add discussion somehow at some point.. but there is no interaction on Wikipedia either... but I can go in and change the info on Wikipedia... never have.. never even wanted to.

Jo you are on top with what you've added! I added two orig. pieces of Intel mostly because the way I blog doesn't really work on Qassia. I haven't noticed traffic from Qassia, but then again I have not really looked to see.

Joanne I'm not sure how much I will keep track of it. Unless it becomes valuable...

From Qassia today:

"Some good news for a change. We noticed that, quite unexpectedly since Qassia is still in closed beta, the backlinks from intel pages on Qassia are starting to have an effect. We discovered this while doing some unrelated research - we came across a number of backlinks originating from intel added in January, causing a noticeable effect at Yahoo!.

This means that users who have added intel can expect their backlinks at Qassia to function as advertised, and to kick in not long after we come out of private beta. Keep on submitting intel, everybody - your hard work will all pay off soon enough."

I added Intel in March... and only two so far... so I won't get backlinks...

I just wish their site would update more often. Maybe when it is out of private beta.

update as in the new intel showing up? It shows up as soon as it is screened by 12 people?

They had a "major meltdown" today.

Maureen, the update of the front page - I think they only do that about once a week or so. I changed some "allocations" so that a blog would show up higher on the list and well waiting for update. Have to go and check it out today.

Oh.... my allocation is messed up. I think or I am messed up. I found I had a bad link in one... my fault totally, misspelling my own name. Then I reallocated and I wonder if I did it, then redid it because it does not show up the way it shows up on my page. Yes I wish that did show up quicker... thanks for the clarification. I am still lost on Qassia...

There is a note about new features and it says there will be comments soon. Qassia style. I can't wait to see what that means.

Comments - hmmmm I have received a couple on some of my intel and well they were pretty lame. I wrote a piece about my experience with a subject, all first hand knowledge and someone made a comment that I needed to check the facts because my intel was false. I laughed but was frustrated because I couldn't respond to them. This will be interesting. One of the "big" point guys there called me and we chatted for an hour or so - wow there is a whole other world out there in this "internet marketing". He posts intel all day long!

Today they released the "comment" module. I turned mine to approve until I see how it goes.

Ooooh thanks Jo... I went and changed mine to approve. I like the whitelist / blacklist functions.

If you know someones profile you can go and whitelist them from there.

How to keep up?!?!?! I joined Qassia a few weeks ago but haven't dne anything with it. Guess it's time to get in gear!

Tina My ColumbusBestBlog.com is on the top of the real estate list on Qassia now... not that I am going to get a lot of traffic until Qassia has more traffic. I have only posted two pieces of Intel... kinda like AR... I am very good at inviting (most of my Qassia dollars are from inviting) but not that great at adding content...

I switched around the dollars on my three sites I have on Qassia so that I would be on top.... not gaming the system but if I have the Qassia dollars why not? Again they are mostly from inviting... once more Intel is getting backlinks.

Allrighty then..... Made a profile and posted some intel. We shall see where it goes from there! Hopefully my Lakepowellrealty blog will make some sort of move up the list :-) Maureen - as always, thanks for the good information. Cheers!!

Be sure and read the TOS if you have not. Someone left a comment on one of my posts about Qassia about the terms of service scaring her.

I think the update was at least 2 weeks. I heard they were trying to do it weekly but I think all of their "drama" a week ago stopped that. I moved up right under Maureen. I have put a lot of intel in because I am never one of the "pioneers" :) and no invites left to send! lol!!!I did what Maureen did also and changed my $$ allocations - I thought why not just have one in the "listing" but I still distribute credit/backlinks to all 3. I have seen traffic hit two of my sites from Qassia.

You still get points... that's why I've blogged about Qassia three times on ActiveRain... and Twittered the link. I had two people join yesterday from my referral link... Heather was one.

I will start adding Intel... soon.

NOW I am not sure about Qassia ... I saw a disturbing ad the other day... on my "intel"

I contacted them & have NOT heard back... I know how hysterical some got here when AR added ads... people would fly off the handle over an ad that was about FSBO but it was trying to get us involved in their businesses not consumers. I usually don't notice ads.... I did notice one ad on ActiveRain and did Contact ActiveRain on it and Bob Stewaart replied that they were aware of the content and were trying to contact the advertiser about the content of the ad.

I just got the one email saying they have no control over the ads, which is BS. I have not added intel since that, I only saw the ad once. I am in wait and see mode.
