Windmills in Arizona -

I still marvel when showing homes in North Scottsdale at some of our rugged areas.  Some of the land/neighborhoods might exist in a County Island.  Homes in those areas do not typically have city services.  You might encounter dirt roads, well water, septic systems, much older homes next to newer homes, cows, horses, all terrain vehicles and windmills. Windmills in Arizona

We do have Windmills in Arizona.  It's not as common as windmills in Kansas, where I'm from, but they do exist here.  I typically see these in areas that are more rural, but still within City limits.

These areas can change rather quickly.  When showing homes in these areas, it's wise to view the homes on the tax records to assess the roads, access and look for washes.  A wash might exist in an area that you planned on using for other purposes.  A wash cannot be moved without re-engineering it with a structural engineer.  So be mindful of this when viewing land and homes in these areas.  I love seeing Windmills in Arizona!

Great post Jan!

Windmills are cool, especially in areas like Arizona where water is a little harder to find.

I just took a picture of one on my travels this past week in Wisconsin and was getting ready to write something about it when I saw your post tonight.windmill

I hadn't really considered that windmills might exist in Arizona.  However, it's windy there too, at times, so why not!

Bob - Now that looks like a Windmill in Action!

John - there' something about windmills that draw you in. I can't explain it, but they are a symbol of yesteryear!

Sheila - A wash is a run off area formed by rainwater. In Arizona, these form when we have sudden rainstorms in the summer months.  I wrote a blog about these a while back.

Myrl - Thanks for stopping by.  Windmills are located in older areas that end up being surrounded by newer homes.  It's something to see for sure as these are typically on larger lots and sometimes there might be livestock on or near the windmill.

Yes there are Beautiful Windmills in Prescott AZ.
Just now viewed your Windmills in AZ blog as I am trying to find a new owner for one of my Prescott Properties with a huge Windmill as the centerpiece. This windmill has 595 ft deep well and actively pumps 30+gal/min feeding a landscape waterfall and pond surrounding the house.
This Windmill is a landmark for this Williamson Valley area.
