Raving Fans: A Revolutionary Approach To Customer Service

 
Ken Blanchard and Sheldon Bowles wrote this little gem of a book several years ago and it is still impacting thousands of lives and business's today.  I first read this book about 15 years ago and it has impacted my business more than I can share.  That Dietz Team motto is "People Helping People" which was inspired by the stories shared in Raving Fans and our goal with every client we are privileged to serve is to create Raving Fans.
 
So, the obvious question you are asking right now, is, what is a Raving Fan?  The answer is someone that you have worked for, a client or customer who LOVES you for the awesome service that you have provided.  They become an advocate for you and your business as they refer you to all of their friends and family.  Jim Collins wrote in "Good To Great" that the reason there are not more GREAT companies is because there are too many business's satisfied with being good.  Here's a question, when is the last time you have been out to dinner and had the manager stop by your table and ask, "is everything awesome, are you having a wonderful time"?  No, they always ask "is everything OK" right?  And, I bet you can't wait to tell all your friends about this amazing restaurant where the food, the service and the atmosphere are OK, right.  So, whats the point?  Here it is, satisfied customers will not refer you to their friends and family but Raving Fans will.  As a matter of fact, they will go out of their way to share your story with as many people as possible just like I am going to do with a quick story about a business I love here in Palm Harbor Florida.
 
 
A Pet Spa Grooming is a local dog grooming business here in Palm Harbor Florida that my family found several years ago.  Every couple months, our dogs Mia and Abby would come home from A Pet Spa Grooming with very cute hair-do's  complete with bows and bandanna's.  Everyone in the family including our dogs, Mia and Abby were excited  when it was grooming time except me.  For the most part, I just complained about that fact that it cost more to groom the dogs than it did for me to get a haircut.  Not to insinuate that their fees are too high because they are not.  It was just me being grouchy.  I know, shame on me.  Well the rest of the story goes like this.  Mia recently left us after 15 years of being an amazing loving dog and it crushed my family and then this card pictured above showed up in our mail box.  It is personally signed by the owner and all of the employees of A Pet Spa Grooming.
