Realtor Eric Kodner to be Guest Editor for January Realtor Magazine

Minneapolis – Saint Paul, Minnesota (December 20, 2013) – Minnesota Realtor® Eric Kodner will serve as Guest Editor for the January/February 2014 issue of REALTOR® Magazine.

Realtor Magazine began selecting and inviting guest editors to collaborate with the magazine’s editorial staff in early 2013.  Serving as a guest editor for Realtor Magazine involves reviewing articles in advance and visiting the magazine’s office in Chicago to confer with editorial staff and designers about the issue, as well as writing the Editor’s column.

Realtor Magazine Editor-in-Chief, Stacey Moncrieff, wrote about Kodner in the August 2010 issue, “Eric Kodner’s Madeline Island Real Estate blog on ActiveRain is a lively mix of business and human interest stories.”  Kodner was later interviewed by Erica Christoffer for the magazine’s February 2012 issue, about the ongoing effort to add protections for LGBT consumers to the Realtor Code of Ethics.  In that issue, Director of Business Relations Toni Sherman (with the Council of Residential Specialists in Chicago) wrote, “Eric Kodner is the kind of [CRS] member we want, someone who is bright, aware of current issues affecting the consumer and NAR members, and enthusiastically following through until the job is done.”

Eric Kodner is the broker and owner of Wayzata Lakes Realty in the Minneapolis and Saint Paul metro area, in addition to being broker and owner of Madeline Island Realty in Wisconsin.  He teaches the NAR (National Association of Realtors) “At Home With Diversity” course, and is a 2014 member of the NAR Diversity Committee.  Kodner has served on the Minnesota Association of Realtors Board and Executive Committee, and was 2012 Chair of the Minnesota Association of Realtors Diversity Committee.  Kodner received an "Exceptional Service Award" from the Minneapolis Area Association of Realtors in 2010 for his work on fair housing issues which lead to a 2011 change in the Realtor Code of Ethics.  He currently serves on the Minnesota Realtor Association Governmental Affairs Committee, as well as the Minnesota Association’s Nominating and Diversity Committees.
