Introduction to Relocation Tips Video Series
Trust me, there is a ton of stuff that has to happen in a relocation, especially when you are selling a home and buying a new one at long distance away. It gets more complicated when working with a relocation package and a relocation company. Add to that issues when moving kids and pets.
Moving? You had better be making your relocation list and checking it twice, to keep it all straight and make sure you don’t miss something important.
Whether you use Evernote, or some other app on your iPhone or Smartphone, to create and monitor a list, or prefer a handwritten checklist on the refrigerator door, there are lots of things to keep tabs on when you are relocating. I defy anyone to do this efficiently without some sort of checklist.
There are too many moving parts (pun intended), and tasks that depend on each other in lock-step fashion. And quite frankly having a list will help you feel prepared and not worried about forgetting something vital. Nothing worse than that “uh oh” feeling. And all those administrative hassles, like address changes, can take time.
Here are some key areas to focus on:
Packing to move
Selecting movers
Making arrangements for travel to your new location
Address changes
Moving pets and kids
Tracking moving expenses
Things to take with you when you move (not in the moving truck)
The “Unpack Me First Box”
Or make it easy on yourself and ask me for my Relocation Checklist – about 5 pages of things to keep in mind and plan for. Does it include absolutely everything? Nope. But it will give you the bulk of the issues to be aware of and plan for.
Of course I’ll share it with you if we start working together if you are moving to the Carlsbad area or elsewhere in North San Diego Countyy.
But you can give me a call (760-840-1360) so we can discuss your relocation needs and questions, or email me at JeffDowlerSolutions@gmail.com to get your copy now.
