Ice Storm December 2013

The storm left 1/2" to 1" on ice coating everything not on the ground. Just about everything became encased in ice. We had warm weather for several days that warmed the ground up. This keep the roads and surface from freezing.

Crepe myrtle bush. This bush normal stands about 10' tall. It is drooping down below 6'.

Just a small plant completely coated in ice. You can see that everything touching the ground is pretty much ice free.

Close up of our Red Bud tree. There are a few seeds pods still hanging on the tree and these are brown things you are seeing.

I remember when i lived in Ukraine or in New York, I've seen such. Not good for trees, since that ice is very have and branches often break.

Yet, pictures look beautiful:)

Than, I absolutely LOVE these photos! I recall when I first moved to Oregon, that I saw this in the winter of '79. I'd never seen anything like it before. I didn't get photos, but it was starkly beautiful.
