The holiday season is such a great time to spend with family and friends. There are so many things about the holiday season that remind you of the true meaning of Christmas, and every family has their own holiday traditions, activities and events. We polled our team and came up with this list of The Peggy Hill Team’s favorite things about the Holidays!
(1) Spending Time with Family
Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza – whichever holiday you celebrate, they all have one thing in common: an emphasis on spending time with family and friends. Enjoying dinner, telling stories around the fireplace, baking or playing games are some traditions that our team members enjoy this time of year. It’s a time when we are encouraged to show our loved ones just how much they mean to us, and to remember what is important in life.
(2) Caroling
As Buddy the Elf says, “The best way to spread Christmas cheer, is singing loud for all to hear”. Though carolling may not be as common these days, many families enjoy singing carols around the piano or guitar this time of year. And don’t forget the slightly less traditional, Christmas karaoke night!
(3) The Magic of Christmas Eve
Whether your 5, or 55, Christmas Eve just has something exciting and magical about it! Kids are anticipating Santa’s arrival and families get together to eat drink and be merry. Christmas lights line the streets and in Simcoe county there is always snow in the air! It`s often a time to visit with close family and friends or to spend some time relaxing on the couch with your favorite Christmas movie.
(4) The joy of Children on Christmas morning
There aren`t many things in this world that can match the feeling of a child on Christmas morning. The look on their faces says it all, it`s pure joy! Many of our team members are parents, and it was unanimous that seeing their children’s happy faces on Christmas morning was the thing that they looked forward to most during the holidays. It`s the feeling of giving that is our favorite thing about the holidays, and that’s what the spirit of Christmas is all about!
