No Fires on Christmas or New Years

What?!!   In Arizona, there are "No Burn" days that mean we can't burn our fireplaces on a given day.  This year is much like others.  We don't have enough wind and the weather is sunny and still.  With days like these, pollution and brown dust sit overhead.  This situation requires notification that we have a "no burn day."

For information, check out this site to view specifics and for the Clean Air App.

No burn days mean we can't burn our fireplaces, chiminea's or outdoor firepits on these days. So, be ready for this and don't burn your fireplaces.  At least this might cheer you up!

Happy Holidays!

Jan, we have lots of burn bans here in the Puget Sound---it has resulted in the majority of people switching to gas fireplaces and gas stoves etc.

Hi Jan. I can relate to the No Burn Days, since we had them in Texas a year or so ago with all the drought and fires that happened.

Wishing you and your family a Very Merry Chirstmas!

Hi Jan.  Salt Lake City has similar restrictions, the smog is very bad there in the winter.  In Park City we have limitations on fireplaces but so far can use them when we want though we are judicious about it.  Our air quality up here is very good and we want to keep it that way.

Jan, we have those "no burn days" here in Denver too.     It is hard when the still air settles in over the City and creates a "brown cloud".

Hope you enjoyed a fabulous Christmas!
