Merry Christmas from our family to all of yours. May this Christmas season be wonderful for you and full of love.
We celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve and have for as long as I can remember, as long as my grandparents can remember and their parents...
We do not have Santa and there are no gift tags that say "Santa" on them under our tree.
We chose to teach our children about being grateful and giving thanks to those who give you gifts.
So each Christmas eve we start off the evening with wonderful favorite foods buffet style... then we tell the Christmas story. This year we did this through music videos.
Then the youngest child gets to go to the tree to pick out a gift, the gift must be for someone other than his/her self. He gives the gift to the person it is for, the person opens the gift and then goes to hug the person who gave it to him.
Then the person who received the gift goes to choose a gift for someone other than his self, and so on. The children learn about being grateful and giving thanks to real people who really spent time and effort and finances to choose and buy gifts. Each gift is treasured more this way.
Whatever traditions you have in your family we pray that you have a blessed Christmas.
