One of the pastimes I enjoy is learning new facts and interesting pieces of history.

Sometimes I come across intriguing stories while reading our local San Jose Mercury News, Smithsonian Magazine or Mental Floss. Today’s collection of facts was found at Fact Monster.

I admit that although these interesting items are intriguing, they have nothing to do with my real business of helping people buy and sell Silicon Valley homes from Cupertino to San Jose, Calif.. These informational tidbits add fun and fascination to life.
