One of the Perks of Staying in Touch with Past Clients

I have seen Evelyn Johnston build her book of business by leps and bounds over the years, just because she keeps in touch with her past clients. She involves them in projects, such as the hot dog parties and the gingerbread parties. She even rewards her best referral clients with dinner and a Broadway play.  She treats them like family and they are always calling her for advice and sometimes just to talk.

One of the Perks of Staying in Touch with Past Clients

I don't work with just anyone.  My potential clients and I have to "click."  We have to like each other, listen to each other and decide if we are a match.  Of course this isn't how I started out my career. I didn't know any better back then.  Once the "Bond" is felt I become totally dedicated and involved in my now Client and their family.

Today while Devon was decorating his Gingerbread House, my Clients were reminiscing about when they bought their home.  They had been looking for seven years, for the perfect home.  Nothing came close to what they wanted.  There was always a serious flaw somewhere.  I need to let you know they were looking long before I became a real estate agent, and they just looked when they could, so it really wasn't that serious.

I believe a neighbor told them about a home that was going to be auctioned off in an area they liked, but the price was so low they figured it was a mess.  Auctions usually do start really low to draw in a crowd, hoping the price would come up.  And it did.  It was down to two Buyers bidding. My Client and another party.  My Client won.

Because I see past clients on and off a few times a year, a couple of years ago when I found out my Client had his 65th Birthday I told them about the "Old Age" deduction in property taxes.  He went down and filed it.  I didn't know that until today.

It sure feels good to catch up and find out you have value even long after the sale.
