Historic Kentlands Mansion
If you follow my blogs, you know that I talk about Kentlands, our home community in Gaithersburg, Maryland, much of the time. This community is the source of many of my photographs.
The landmark building in Kentlands is the Historic Kentlands Mansion which was here when the community was still farmland.

I love the architecture. It is so typical of the East Coast. It is said that California architecture is so mixed, because those who made it built the type of house that represented success and luxury in their home town. Down the street from our home in Los Angeles, there was home that was similar to the Kentlands home in your picture. It was placed on a large lot and had great gardens...A
Roy- I've seen so much of the other parts of the Kentlands, I'm glad I got to see the mansion.

Thanks so much for your comments. The Kentlands Mansion is now owned by the City of Gaithersburg and is available for events such as weddings and receptions. The barn behind the mansion is now an arts center.
