Looking to ring in 2014 in Charlotte? Whether you're looking for a family-friendly celebration, or you want to leave the kids behind, there are plenty of events happening around Charlotte. Here's how the New Year's scene looks for 2014.
This list is still growing, and I'll have many more options added as the time gets closer. Of course, you can expect most clubs Uptown to have some sort of celebration, and I'll have those listed as I find out more. Most of those celebrations are ticketed events. First Night Charlotte
10 p.m. to Midnight
Romare Bearden Park
First Night is the city of Charlotte's "official" celebration. It's an alcohol-free, family-friendly, cultural celebration in Uptown Charlotte. Artists, dancers, comedians, musicians and magicians will take to the streets and venues for you to enjoy as you count down the end of 2013. If midnight is too late for the younger ones in your family though, there's a kid's countdown earlier in the day. The evening will be capped off by fireworks at midnight.

Is midnight just too late for the little ones in your family? Then check out the kid's counterpart of Charlotte's official celebration. First Night Kids kicks runs starts at noon with a kid's countdown at the main stage.

Entertainment includes exclusive performances by two (2) Special Guest DJs featuring the best in Top40/Pop/HipHop in the Venetian Ballroom (second floor)and the La Rumba Ballroom (first floor).
