Thanks to the Edina Housing Foundation (EHF), you can purchase a home with just $1,000 cash out of pocket. This program was designed as an incentive for young lower income families to move into the city after the 2000 census identified that over 25% of Edina homeowners are over 65 years of age.

This is a second mortgage program that works in conjunction with the first mortgage. You may borrow up to $60,000. The loan officer will determine the maximum amount you can qualify for. There are income and asset restrictions. For example, a single individual's maximum income should be $55,000, or less; a family of 2-4 should have a total household income of $63,000, or less.

So, what's available in Edina for under $325,000?

 35 single family homes,  2 under $200,000

   6 townhomes,              1 under $200,000

145 condos,                116 under $200,000

    6 twin homes,             0 under $200,000

Hi Teri - Yes, it is.  This program should enable a significant group of buyers to purchase in Edina.

So nice to hear from you.

That's a very catchy title, and it looks like a great opportunity for first time buyers.  I wish I could say the same for my market!

Thanks, Georgina. I hear that prices in your area are quite high. Is that your "special assessment" for sunshine?

Thanks for visiting.
