Happy New Year 2014

It is a New Year and a new chance to make those resolutions for the upcoming year of all the things we’d LIKE to do with good intentions, but sometimes we don’t follow through with them.  (present company included)

In 2013 the Top 5 New Year’s resolutions were…

  1. Eat healthy and exercise regularly
  2. Learn something new
  3. Better work/life balance
  4. Get organized (My main one this year)
  5. Save money

I’m sure that most, if not all, of these were on all of our lists for last year as well as even this year.  These resolutions seem to be the most popular year after year.

Why is it that we set these goals or resolutions and many of us don’t follow through with them?  At least not for more than a few weeks to a few months at best.  It’s not like they’re unattainable or even lofty goals.  I don’t see “Become an astronaut” on that list.

I’ve learned that the easiest way to obtain a goal is to 1st WRITE IT DOWN. Maybe even in multiple times in multiple places.  And read it several times each day.  Don’t take for granted that you’ll just remember to do it.  You must write it, see it, read it and DO IT!

Setting goals is not as easy as it sounds and following up and achieving those goals isn’t any easier.  Start out small.  Something simple.  If you need to lose some weight, then don’t set a goal of losing 30-50 lbs.  Start out with losing 5 lbs in 30 days or less.  Then once achieved set a new goal of another 5 lbs, and so on.  You’ll get that great feeling of accomplishment and it’ll motivate and empower you to move forward achieving even more goals.

I have a goal to sell at least 25 homes this year  in the Lodi, Stockton and surrounding areas.  Some of those sales will be to home buyers and some will be helping home sellers.  To do this I’ll have to be more proactive on my marketing and follow-up.  Especially the follow-up.  So, if you already know me, then you should be hearing more from me this year.  And if you don’t know me yet, then I look forward to talking and/or meeting with you soon.

Whatever your goals are for 2014 I hope that you have fun setting them and have great success in achieving them.  If fact, I’d love to hear from you and what goals you are setting, and I’d be more than delighted to assist you in achieving those goals in any way that I can.

I’m here to help!

Here’s to YOUR SUCCESS and MINE in 2014!

Write it down is key!  I carry a notebook with me everywhere that has my daily to-dos and random lists.  It also has this years goals on the first couple pages (separated by personal and business).  Right now, my personal goals trump the business goals.  I need to be my best to work my best.  Thanks for the great post!

Hey Sarah, it sounds like you've got great skills at organization and personal commitment to excellence.  And you're right about being the best "you" before expecting to be the best anything else.  Thx for commenting and I wish you much success professionally and personally!
