The City of Santa Clarita is in the process of forming new landscape districts to pay for landscaping upgrades throughout the city, mostly in street medians and along roadways.

Up for the current vote are areas in the Valencia Industrial Center and portions of San Fernando Road, Valencia Boulevard, Golden Valley Road as well as the west end of the Cross-Valley Connector. The newly-formed landscape districts would assess nearby property owners an estimated $60-$3000, depending on the size of the property.

Landscape districts that are already established throughout the Santa Clarita area are what helps the area to look more inviting. Examples of what the landscape districts can do are the trees along McBean Parkway and Valencia Boulevard as well as the new street medians in the Canyon Country area.

Many areas throughout Santa Clarita already have landscape districts in place. Landscape district fees are included in the annual property tax bills sent to property owners.
