16-Day week-ends wear me out...
In dealing with the government as much as we do with endless permits and regulations, many of which renew at the end of the year, I can really understand Marte's frustration with the 16 day weekend.
Unfortunately ours generally starts just before deer season (the saturday before thanksgiving) and ends sometime in the first week or so of January. So many calls made and emails sent that generate autoreplys stating that they are out of the office until ____. Makes me wonder how our government survives with a 6 week shutdown every year.
Am I the only one who is tired and worn out from a 16-day week-end?
There are 4 1/2 days left to go, and I can hardly wait until Monday. Maybe I could just curl up and sleep until then?
No - there really are things I can do, but it's frustrating that many of the people I need to reach are unavailable. And... I'm not well-suited to spending hours in the kitchen, or to spending hours visiting with the people who drop by just because "It's holiday time."
I want to get back to normal!
Of course, my household will never again be the old normal. Not with a puppy in the house. A new family member changes everything. And right now, the new family member is keeping me busy making sure there's nothing he can chew on that will make him sick - and telling him "No" when he wants to eat the furniture - or my clothing, shoes, skin, or hair.
And then there are all those trips outside so I don't have to use the carpet shampooer every other hour.
Guess I'd better also teach him not to do this...
Sure was cute, though.
