What Do You Think Makes a Good Realtor?

Ask 10 people, "what makes a good Realtor?" and you will probably get 10 different answers. The answers will also probably all be good characteristic of a good Realtor, but there are a few "must haves!"

1. Honesty - A good Realtor is honest with the client, general public and their fellow Realtor.

2. Be a problem solver - Real estate transaction can be tricky and a good Realtor needs to be a good problem solver, sometimes having to be a creative problem solver!

3. Area knowledge - Whether you are buying or selling a good Realtor needs a deep knowledge of your market area in order to represent your interest fully.

4. Know real estate contracts - To protect a clients interest, a good Realtor will know the ins, outs and pitfalls of the real estate contract as it pertains to their client. This knowledge can make or break a deal and saving or costing a client money.

Buyers and sellers have their own list of wants in their Realtor, but I think these few are a good start.

And to me, one of the most important things that every buyer or seller should look for in a Realtor is the ability to say "I don't know, let me find out the answer for you."  Admitting that you don't know everything is a good thing!

I absolutely agree with that! Most agents think that is a weakness, I see that as having a brain!
