Eating Fish Worse Than Eating Bacon?

I try to stick to real estate-related topics when posting here.  I do break this "rule" from time to time when I feel inclined to post one of something that I believe is of particular importance, such as my article "Flu Shots are Useless".

I read this article this morning titled "Eating Tilapia is Worse Than Eating Bacon" and hadn't realized that some of these farm-raised fish were so malnutritious.  Many low-fat diets push eating fish because it is lean and high in easily-digetsted proteins and Omega-3 fatty acids.

I am sure that you have heard that certain seafoods should be eaten in moderation.  Due to high levels of toxic chemicals found in tuna fish, such as mercury, we should ingest it no more than once per week.

Shrimp is probably the nastiest of the seafoods.  Most of it is imported and caught or raised in contaminated water loaded with toxic pollutants and antibiotics.  Because of this, we are told to eat it only occassionally.

I had heard before that farm-raised salmon is not as good for us as wild-caught salmon but I hadn't read anything detailed about it.  I had never seen anything negative about tilapia but this research suggests that it is not the best thing that we can be putting in our bodies.

There is a sign at the seafood counter at one of the local supermarket chains boasting about how they are promoting "sustainability" by providing farm-raised seafood.  This article would suggest that eating this type of food does not promote the sustainability of human beings.

Hard to believe, but there so many similar stories about eating certain types of fish, especially the ones that feed at the bottom of the oceans.

Joe-yes, the bottom-feeders are the worst!

Conrad- it sure is Conrad. Even the "certified organic" label is garbage.  My friend owns an organic coffee company and rejected the USDA Organic certification last year after learning that several Monsanto GMO "foods" were given the Organic label last year.
