I very much appreciate the actions of those that take the time and make the effort to rescue animals.
Michael Delaware has taken a dog rescue to a much higher level. His love for his dog Blue lead him to write a book about his experience.
My Name is Blue: The Story of a Rescue Dog is the title of the book.

My dog blue is a Australian Cattle Dog (AKA Blue Heeler) mix. My wife and I rescued him in June, and he has become such an integral part of my life. The last few nights with all the snow outside I have been working a lot at home in my office. He sometimes gets bored and jumps on my shoulder
and sticks his nose in my face to see what I am doing and just to say hello.
Last night I snapped a few photos of some of these moments. Having a dog around is new for me, as I have not had one since I was a kid. My life was always too busy, or so I thought. Now I cannot imagine a day without him.
In fact, when I am away and have to leave him at home, I find myself thinking about my buddy and what I have to do to get back to him sooner. He is such a special friend, even when he is being a pest.
Since we rescued him, my wife and I have been on a crusade to raise awareness of the plight of kennels and adoption. There are many dogs that do not find loving homes.
I wrote an eBook last year which is Blue's story from his point of view, and it is intended to raise awareness of the magic of rescuing a dog and how it can change your life for the better. Blue is a special part of my wife and I's life, and every day he brings us additional smiles and laughs that we would have missed had he not been around. He is truly a special friend.
