Real Estate Marketing: 5 creative mailings

Real Estate marketing mailersI had the opportunity to spend about 2 hours today with a group of Re/Max agents in Rogers. A very energetic group of entrepreneurs who were focussed on what they had to do in the current housing market.

In the marketing/brainstorming session, I encouraged them to continue to do their monthly mailings. However, I suggested that they try to position themselves a little differently in the eyes of their clients.

How? Well, I know from personal experience that any time I receive a stack of mail…what do I open first? Something that piques my curiosity. If there is an odd shaped package…or odd shaped letter…it gets my attention.

Great ideas...you are right you want your information to stick out. I am going out tomorrow and buying all the items you have listed and start a new campaign. Thanks!

Chris, those are all creative ideas. The only one that may not be such a good thing to mail is the stick match as I don't think that the USPS allows flammable materials (though isn't all paper flammable?) in the mail. I also happen to open the odd shaped letters first!

Chris - Very Clever and I already had some mailers sent to me already with some of those creative ideas, one actually sent a watch, which of course I opened and it said time is running out see how much your home is worth now.  WOW keep them coming!

Thanks for sharing these methods that might increase our response rate to direct mail.

Thanks Tammy and Terry - I got everything at a local dollar store for a buck a package.

Libby - flammable things, you might need to check with the USPS.   I appreciate your post.

Justin - a watch?  That's another great idea!

Vickie - thanks for your comment.  Just trying to share some ideas here.

Mark - I appreciate you posting...thank you.

Posted on the main blog... some we do:

Award ribbons (blue with the 1 on them) - "our clients are always No. 1 to us!"

snack size individual popcorn - "We have poppin' fresh ideas to sell your home!"

A good idea - just look through an Oriental Trading company catalog and you'll run into all kinds of little giveaways to give you ideas.

another one:

lotto tickets ($1 powerball) - "Don't gamble with your home! Call us!"

thanks for the post - this reminds me, I need to get back to doing those things!!

Thanks for those great ideas! I like the lotto ticket idea too! Anything to make us stand out in the crowd is worth trying!!
