You Don't Want To Pay Your HOA Fee? Think Again!

Homeowner's Association Dues....yuck I get it, we all hate paying extra costs in addition to our mortgages, taxes and insurance, but then again.....

No kidding people this home exists! And I'm sure you realize that the hearts are my addition. Can you imagine living next to this? or across the street? or just driving by it with your kids and their nugget meal?

Yikes!

I'm fully aware this is an extreme! It was built in Mexico, so in theory our decency laws would probably prohibit this from your neighborhood. That said....we've all driven by homes that have caused us to thank the stars that we live far away from it.

-Dayglo walls, shutters and someone's idea of art
-The additions which go in every direction
-The dead car on cinder blocks
-Dead grass, or worse...the Munster's garden

So the next time you are grousing over writing your HOA check or whining about the limited color choice for the exterior....remember your neighbor might be wishing they could build THIS!

Karen

If the homeowners in Florida don't their HOA or Condo Association fees . . . . they are foreclosing on the property. Best advise is to pay your fees . . . . and on time.

Good luck and success.

I wonder what THOSE rooms are like?  Is there a view?

Sage advice. I'm sure we've all seen some outlandishly painted structure suggestive of a too late night and too much boozing before picking up that paintbrush. There is something to be said for developments with restrictions that protect everyone from eyesores that could decrease property values.

Sound advice!   As an HOA manager I often have to use illustrations such as this to help the homeowner see why the developer put the restrictions in place.

Karen, one of my clients had a home in another state for sale and the home next door to it had 7 large statues in the yard and I mean roof height large.  Of course there was no HOA and the home was on the market for two years+ and sold at a greatly reduced price.
